The Project team visited one of the early beneficiaries of the Project, Madam Mercy Asiedu, and presented her with an autographed picture we took of her four years ago. The picture has become a brand of the project since it has been used in many of our publications.
It was a moment of joy for the officers as the woman shed tears at seeing the beautiful picture we had taken of her. The most fulfilling part is that the toilet we provided for her is functioning well and has alleviated her burden of using the public toilet in those days.
Little drops of water indeed make a mighty ocean. According to the latest 2021 census data, the efforts of the project have contributed to reducing open defecation in the Greater Accra Region by 2%. There is still more work to be done and we, the project will continue to do our best to increase access to improved Sanitation for low-income Urban dwellers such as Madam Mercy Asiedu, a 71-year-old widow who stays in Madina, Accra
